i have been experiencing upper left back pain for about 7 months after a very physically active weekend, and like it says here its a specific spot and its affecting almost my entire back and my left shoulder and neck… i have seen a medical doctor and all that happened was i got some muscle relaxants and anti- inflams and of course they both did nothing. and now im seeing a chiropractor, which is helping but on a very minimal level. im in need of help from anyone who has experienced the same thing or who knows what i can do or what specialist i can see to take care of this problem. it feels like the muscle or ligament that is damaged is really deep in my back by the spine… i am about 18 years old and going to Marine bootcamp in 6 months and i would like my back to get better by then, also i lift weights which is affected by this back pain as well. so any info would be extremely helpful! thanks!
Hi sorry to hear about your pain, it sounds like you may need to have a MRI , since the pain has lasted for 7 months, pulled muscle or sprains doesn’t last that long, Do you have numbness or tingling anywhere? If could be a pinched nerve in your neck, if not pinched, maybe bulgeing disk, if you are planning on bootcamp you really need to see another doctor, I’m sure you don’t want to leave with that kinda pain when you don’t know where it is comming from, because you could just make the problem worse, with extreme workouts at bootcamp, hope you fells better some, and take my addvice…
The most complicated thing is to find a web page with specialized and current information but i think you offer something different. Keep it like this.
I’m 48 and having the same exact symptoms. Thankfully mine have only been for about a week. I have seen my chiropractor and she has given me some relief, not a lot. She believes it is purely skeletal/mechanical and that by continuing to see her I should get relief. I’m also going for a massage this afternoon which I’m hoping helps. I’ve been taking back pain/spasm specific medication (OTC) for a week now and it seems to help some. I’m sorry for your pain as well. I have an appointment with my GP next week and will see what she thinks. It seems to have all started as a result of my beginning an upper body weight program at the gym. Nothing crazy, just a few machines, no free weights. Anyways, I hope you figure out what’s causing it and get relief soon!
I am 16 and I am already experiencing this pain for 3weeks >.<
