Back Pain Muscle Spasms

Huge number of people experienced back pain muscle spasms at one point of their life. Sometimes a simple thing like cough or sneeze can cause middle back muscle pain and there is other example when people who are not used perform of lifting heavy objects can also experienced painful muscle spasms when they start carrying heavy objects on their new job or simple house task.

Back Pain Muscle Spasms and its treatment

If someone it’s not used to moving heavy furniture around from one room to another in purpose of redecorating, you better call someone. It is better before any lifting to estimate weight of the item and wait for help then put the unnecessary pressure on your back. You probably heard for the saying “better safe than sorry”. Unfortunately there are a lot of people (including myself) who spend most of their day sitting due to job nature and therefore we are in risk to suffer from those muscle spasms due to poor posture. So if you think if you have sedentary position on your job that you are immune for muscles spasm because you hardly move away from your chair, I say think again. At the end we are sensitive on these spasms as any other people who lead active lives. In fact there is higher possibility that people leading most of their time sedentary position can suffer from more crippling back spasms than those ones who are leading “active” way of life. This comes as logical because people who are active are having stronger and better toned muscles and therefore they are less likely to strain their muscles easily.

Painful Muscle Spasms and dealing with problem

Whatever the cause of this pain, the final result is almost always the same nature. Those muscle spasms can be strong and quite intense that many people are left immobilized for some short time. Actually a lot of people who are stroked from these back pain muscle spasms find them self to hardly move around for couple of days. When this pain happens it is recommendable to stop doing whatever did you do till then and try to relax. The best thing is to lie down in your personal comfortable position and let the pain disappear or subside naturally. If for some reason you cannot lie down, try to gently massage your aching muscles in a circular motion and try breathing deeply. Slowly you can try to stretch your muscles normally avoiding sharp moves in the way to ease the pain. Normally after this episode muscles will feel sore for next 2 to 3 days. The best thing to avoid soreness and the possible swelling in your muscles is to apply gentle heat to the affected area every three to four hours.  Heat therapy till now is shown to be very effective for relieving soreness and swelling caused by muscles spasms.
